After launching the Human-Languages Page (H-LP) in May 1994, Tyler Chambers launched the Internet Dictionary Project (IDP) in 1995. The IDP was a collaborative project to create free collaborative online dictionaries from English to other languages (French, German, Italian, Latin, Portuguese, and Spanish). Thank you so much to Barbara for her feedback. An updated version of the Booknology dated 5 December 2010 was just released in Project Gutenberg [http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/33460]. The updated version includes the year 2009 and the Nook. I hope the updated (and final) version will soon be available in ManyBooks too.
Fascinating stuff in this 44 page timeline. Learned some things I did not know. But 2009 is the year that was left out. I wonder why. Nothing about the B&B nook, the eReader device explosion. The timeline goes from 2008 t0 2010. Barnes & Noble has always been a major player in the electronic book field from way back, so to leave out the nook is a glaring omission. Otherwise, very interesting.
