Excellent short story. Not a lot of sci-fi, but the story is engaging, well-written, and the ending was handled well. Not many authors can pull this off.

Absorbing story of the time of the next ice age, thousands of years after men have left Earth and colonized the stars. The Crown is stolen, and the Keeper starts across the ice with his dog to get it back and kill the thieves--if he can. Great descriptions, great plotting (no easy solutions,) great main character. A convincing story.

Excellent story, similar to "Dune" in its ecological/environmental setting as fundamental influences on the storyline. Like the "Dune" writings you know a science fiction story is well written when you forget it is science fiction when you read it.
