An outstanding book for those who enjoy a well crafted plot and a richly detailed setting (Algeria and the Saharan Desert). The authors (yes, two of them--husband and wife-Charles Norris Williamson should also be in the byline) actually traveled three times to the North African locations where this book takes place and interviewed several actual members of the Foreign Legion. It is a classic tale of romance and adventure with the Foreign Legion as a backdrop.
