I read a Sinhalese translation of this book as a teen and I'm happy to find it in it's original language. Morning Star is the daughter of a Pharaoh, in love with her childhood friend, now commander, Ramses. The story follows her escape from her uncle's tyrannical rule and return to the arms of her lover, who later becomes the next Pharaoh beside her. It includes certain supernatural elements and multiple escapes from hard places before the two lovers are reunited.

A classic! I watched the movie before reading but the ideas introduced by the book were relatively novel and unmatched, the plot reads like a charm
