Progressions
Progressions
Early Period
Book Excerpt
You put on an act
For those around you.
They consider you so great
Yes, they praise you.
They admire your style
Worship your strength
Applaud your abilities
They bow down before you.
For those around you.
They consider you so great
Yes, they praise you.
They admire your style
Worship your strength
Applaud your abilities
They bow down before you.
And, granted, you are good.
You can show friendship
To those you hate.
Be indifferent to your own losses
Although feeling them worse
Within your own heart.
You can look to heaven
Yet praise Satan.
You can look to Hell
Yet love God.
You look into a mirror
Yet, you are not pleased.
You try to like what you see
But can't even consider yourself.
No more awards adorn your mantle
You are now in hock for praise.
You fade from memory and view.
You no longer have your pawns
All of them are gone.
