Not every book or story should read like Shakespeare. Sometimes a story can be fun, entertaining and rewarding on its own merits. This is an engaging story with decent character development, an original story line, adventure and humor. Reading it, I imagined it could make a good movie, and now I can say "you should read the book, it's waaay better!"
The writer obviously researched the background of mythical creatures, goblins and the like; and each character was interesting and had personality. I don't usually read books with heavy Dungeon or Mythical themes, but I'm glad I read this one.
