Its puritanical principles and even its Christian faith are both out of fashion today, but that need not stop you appreciating the true genius of the writing. Bunyan was one of the first authors to reproduce the talk of the man in the street, and he had a remarkable gift of comedy. It is also an adventure story, full of dangers overcome, so that even a child of ten can enjoy it. It is a difficult to find another book to compare with it.
