This book was okay. I think the author has a fantastic writing style and is very talented, and I was excited about this story from the beginning. It was captivating. The characters were written very well. I especially loved Sniggy.
However, by the second half, the story had too many subplots that were not fully developed, and I think the author was trying really hard to "stump" the reader--so hard that the story stopped making sense. When I finished, I thought about the different plots, and I had to essentially tell the story to myself again in my own words in order to put it together. But what I put together did not cover half of the questions I had about other points of the story. In the end, I truly felt that I had wasted my time reading this book, considering how excited I was to start.
Another thing I have to bring up is the graphic content and language in this book. I was unaware that a YA fantasy novel could contain this material, so I believe there should be a disclaimer (maybe there was and I missed it..) warning the reader.
