I am a bit confused here. I downloaded the PDF format of this novel and read it till the VIIth chapter. In the end of that chapter, after Sherlock apprehends the man and declares him as the murderer to Watson, Lestrade and Gregson, an entirely new chapter of an entirely new story starts called 'ON THE GREAT ALKALI PLAIN' What exactly is happening??? Is this a continuation of the novel? Or are these two separate novels? I am asking because I haven't read that part and am really annoyed at the fact that it isnt mentioned how Sherlock deduced the fact that the apprehended man IS the murderer. Please tell me whats happening! But on the contrary, the novel up to that point is magnificent! Arthur's (Conan Doyle) writing is so detailed, it really felt like I was seeing everything in person lol.
