Excellent book recounting the life of a heroic doctor. He willingly faced unbelievable hardships through ice, snow, blizzards and rough frozen waterways to save people's lives (almost losing his own more than once). Also a good bit about Eskimos. Includes an incredible recounting of a dog that TOTALLY earned the name "Hero" and other stories about huskies and other sled dogs - some tragic, some inspirational others very funny.
