Our protagonist is a detective/journalist who gets tricked and double-bluffed and beaten up a whole lot in this really interesting murder mystery.
One original aspect is that the author presents a playlist of songs/artists for each part of the book, so you can fetch them on Spotify and listed while you read - Nice.
I really liked this post-apocalyptic sci-fi story, and would definately pay to read more from this author. The book is well edited and easy to read, quite a page turner with an interesting adventure and some humour as well. The best is probably the characters who you can get quite attached to.
This is a great compilation of four books that Rudy Rucker wrote over twenty-something years. It's fantastic and should be essential reading for all sci-fi fans. I'm amazed this can be downloaded for free!
Very original, and in the beginning I really had to check I really read what I just thought I read. I can recommend "Craphunter" and "Down and out in the magical kingdom" which are more accessible.
The old language used in this story sets a facinating scene of the lawless high seas, where our central character is employed on a ship under the care of the colourful Trunnell. Highly recommended.
Not bad at all - reads like a movie. No work of art, but a nice page-turner with action in a sci-fi futuristic setting where the assassin for the corporate state changes sides to defend a naive activist.
Although slightly dated, I found this to be an easy read about military thinking in a first-contact situation. The characters are quite good, with some humour, and though I miss the high-tech weaponry of other sci-fi books, this keeps if vague enough that your imagination allow you to get into the story.
