Where do Novelists get their Stories from?
I said a moment ago that no teaching could impart a story. If you cannot invent one for yourself, by observation of life and sympathetic insight into human nature, you may depend upon it that you are not called to be a writer of novels. I don't know why the author chose to be anonymous. This is a very interesting and practical book about the process of writing a novel. (I had no idea how much work it takes.) I wasn't going to write a novel, but I like knowing how it's done.
