Jose Sevilla wrote this book in 1922 intending it to be a reference material for students who are researching biographies of Filipino heroes. The author had the book published removing all the "n" in place of the tilde g or "~g". This makes it hard to read for modern day students.
In the desire to make the ebook more accessible to today's youth, the "n" were returned in the HTML version. This can be accessed through the Project Gutenberg site:

The swiss physician Tissot wrote this book "Advice to the people in general, with regard to their health", to help lay people cure common ailments and diseases if professional medical care is out of their reach. Father Manuel Blanco the noted Spanish priest, who is also known for his book "Flora de Filipinas", translated the book into Tagalog and included comments and notes pertaining to the Philippine situation in the late 1800s.
The book is an interesting read on how diseases and ailments were cured at that time. Some cures are shocking to say the least but maybe there is some scientific basis for it? Afterall, a lot of the so called "miracle cures" that are being discovered now seemed to already have been used in the past!
The story of St. Clothilde is retold in this Tagalog poem written in 1917. St. Clothilde was instrumental in converting her husband King Clovis into Christianity. Clovis was convinced of the truth of Christianity after winning a battle with his enemies after praying to "Clotilde's God" and promising to be baptized if victory was his.
Laborers have decided to go on strike after management announced the reduction of pay. The drama unfolds when a few of the workers were enticed to return to work after promises of a better position. Will the strike suceed? or is it doomed to fail when the main instigator is tempted by the other camp?
The noted journalist Honorio Lopez started this Tagalog almanac in 1898. Every year after, this thin pamphlet served as the "bible" for farmers and common folks who refered to it for the weather, astrology, and events or birthdates of famous people in the world. The almanac also includes interesting short articles on life, love and health. Would you like to know what happened in 1922 on the day of your birth? Read on...
