Jack Ryder, an archeologist passionate about the ancient Egyptian ruins, is forced into attending a masquerade where he stumbles upon a vision in loveliness. The path to her lies through the fortieth door fraught with dangers but he decides to risk it all to achieve treasure worth more than all his wildest dreams.
A fast-paced romantic adventure with well-defined characters including a likeable hero, strong female characters and a diabolical villain, slightly let down by an abrupt ending.
