You're all alone in a deserted city. You walk down an empty street, yearning for the sight of one living face—one moving figure. Then you see a man on a corner and you know your terror has only begun.

Couldn't get past the extremely foul language - gave up on the story early on. Not the greatest writing in the world, either.
Five people wake up in Chicago and find the city has been evacuated while they slept. It takes them a while to discover what happened and why, though it ends up not mattering much.

All five people are distinct characters, compelled to act from their mental make-ups and past histories. The author did a good job of telling a convincing story.

Four and a half stars.
