AKSEL (kohteliaasti): Erittäin hupaista!

KOLMAS KOHTAUS
Amalia. Bertha.
AMALIA. Kuinka sievä ja kohtelias miehesi aina on minua kohtaan! Koko kaupunki onkin ihastunut hänen hauskaan ja iloiseen käytökseensä. Mutta melkein liian iloinen, (herittää sormellaan) melkein liian iloinen hän vain on, ystäväiseni.
BERTHA. Mitä tarkoitat?
AMALIA. Mitäkö tarkoitan? Ei mitään, ei niin mitään. Ei se ansaitse puhumistakaan. Täytyyhän sitä elää mukana, ja hauskassa seurassa annetaan mielellään rahojen luistaa.
