Bereft of his wife, his home is cared for by a succession of domestics of varying degrees of inefficiency until, from a most unpromising source, comes a young woman who not only becomes his wife but commands his respect and eventually wins his love. This exemplifies what a good romance story is all about. It had a wholesome feel and no smut as is common in the romance novels of today. I am excited to read the story to my mother.
