A fairly good pulp action story. Whaler Torrance is the only one who knows the missing sub has been trapped by the arctic sealmen. So he comes to their rescue in a stolen torpoon (mini-sub). The action sequences are good, there's nice tension. Everyone in the story owns a Y chromosome; there isn't a woman around above or under the ice, not even to rescue.

Four stars for the action plot; two stars for depth of character.
