A very interesting what if book. What if you could become the most beautiful woman in the world? How would that affect your friends? How would that affect your life? How would all those changes affect you?

The author follows a country bumpkin that comes to the city to go to college. She is very bright and the teacher's pet. The Teacher finds a way to make people more beautiful and offers it to this girl....

A book that explores all these angles. It's well written, if a bit slow in patches, but very very interesting!

I've only finished 2 of the 7. Some fun short stories, but not George's best in my opinion. Not quicky reads either, but definately worth the read.

I thought Portent could have been much more about the second sight than it was, but it was a great short story. The Cruel Painter was a lot of fun.

Wonderful children's fantasy story. I highly recemmend this one and the followup story. The story continues with Princess and Curdie.

I love this author, but this book a bit more science ficton than I like. So if you like Sci-Fi, you will probably like this.

I like fantasy more than sci-fi. I still haven't made it all the way through and don't think I will.
