Jovian’s book reviews

Blurtex's "review" seems to have been taken verbatim from the Wikipedia description, so I hardly count it as valid here. As for my review, I can only say that others who have claimed the book to be boring beyond belief is true, that the philosophy itself if flawed beyond measure and the overall effect on the world has been horrific. I wish there were a rating system for fewer than one stars.

Good book, but beware of some historical fudging by the author. He speaks of Wheeling being in West Virginia before that part of the state seceded from Virginia, and of a young Confederate scout viewing the massive dome of the Capitol in Washington in June 1861 -- before the dome was completed. Still, a good read if you don't read too closely.

Great story about a young man who tries to overcome a tragic incident in which he was at fault. Well written, with compelling characters, this books is a good read for adults and young people alike. Shame no one writes stories like this any more.

Terrific collection of creepy stories by the man who created "Dracula." The opening story doesn't even have Dracula making an appearance, but nevertheless has that eerie, tingle-up-your-spine feel of the original novel -- and the same can be said of all the stories. Well worth the time!

This is a wonderfully daffy tale of a young man who joins the Navy, and of his many misadventures as he tries to adapt to military life. It is written in the first person in the form of a diary, and has moments in which it will bring the reader to outright laughter. A delighftul read!
