Have to agree with the others, just excellent stories and writing.

Well written adventure through the islands of Norway to see the sun not set. Enjoyed the descriptions of the Norwegian landscape, costumes, houses, churches.

She describes the realities of farming well and how people even back then lacked morals, if you have money they will sell you a dying horse. I am sorry the local country people made her farming experience so challenging.

A fun whimsical story to read, for its unusualness. I suppose May is the month that awakens adventure in us.

Very good nature writing, this book reads more like a story than scientific observation. "Mux" taught me a habit of a racoon I didn't know. He focuses on birds from his roof in the city and meadows and marshes in the country.

This book really resonated with me. The story shows how innocence and an open heart can protect you. I loved some of his phrases in the book.

Simple short story, a good way to get used to his style of writing. I had to read it twice to fully absorb this old style of writing.

A fast read not much depth to it. How the city wakes up Aunt Mary's senses and a couple falls in love. Nothing with much meaning but a fun escape.

Just a laughable bunch of stories written in the tongue of the east coast. If you enjoy humour these are worth a try.

Really enjoyed the first half of this book. Phyllis is a great independent free spirited young lady and her mother even more so. Nicholson has no hesitation in creating strong women and I like that but the last half just had too much business dealings with bonds receivership, etc. understandable with him being a politician business man, just I find it takes about from the story of Phyllis. I say read the first half.
