The narrator of this book, the handsome, coal-black horse called ''Black Beauty'', is lead through numerous adventures by various owners - from a riding and carriage horse, to the rough life of a town cab horse, to eventual happiness in a secure home, he keeps his strength and good temper. Influential as animal-rights propaganda, this tale is also an extremely exciting and moving children's story.

I remember by father first reading Black Beauty to me when I was about 8 or 9. It has become a cherished memory. There is a beautifully restored, illustrated version from 1912 available for iPads on the iBookstore that has a really nice faux leather cover. The whole thing feels very vintage yet modern.
I read this book before I reached my teen years and enjoyed it very much. I would like to read it again.
I have been searching the local ibraries and have not been able to locate it as yet.
when i was younger this was my favorite book. It still touches me whenever i read it. Great book for someone who like nature, horse or just loves to read a story that they will always remember.
