This is one of the best reads on this site. Good, unique, storyline. Good characterization, and several small twists along the way. Obviously the work of a mature writer.

There are a few instances of foul language that mar the otherwise excellent writing.
I first read this 35 years ago under the title Space Plague. I liked it then, and I still like it now. Mildly dated, but with enough new ideas (and non-hackneyed treatment of old ideas) to be a fun read. I have often wondered whether Vernor Vinge's idea of "zones" was inspired by this novel.
Here's an often overlooked gem from the author of the classic "Venus Equilateral" stories. Fast-paced action, suspense and intrigue, and shadowy underground organizations creating supermen form victims of a deadly space disease...a must for lovers of classic SF.
