Loved the story! Romances written during this era are my favorite and to find one that inspires Christian faith is fantastic. I’m going on to read the rest of Haggard’s work. Thank you to those readers before me that gave this book 5 ratings, or I probably never would have found or downloaded it!
Part of the Scarlet Pimpernel series which are all good adventure romances. Once again they beat impossible odds and rescue the doomed captive from the French revolutionists.
A mystery story with some romance. Not that interesting and the author spent a lot of time describing surroundings and other things that had no impact on the story, I assume just to bring up the page count. Normally I like Orczy's books, such as the Scarlet Pimpernel stories, but this one was not that great.
A action romance written in the common style to the majority of Orczy's books. This story had a little more war and less romance than some of her other books, so not my favorite, but still good.
A piece of the Scarlet Pimpernel saga which puts him in deeper danger than he has ever been in before. The book has great suspense, romance, and story line. Very enjoyable.
This is an excellent story full of non-stop action, tear jerking passion, and a happy ending. It's everything you expect in early 1900’s romance and has inspired me to read the rest of Orczy’s works.
I didn’t enjoy this as much as some of other of Sabatini’s works, the action was too slow to keep my interest in some sections, but the plot is creative, and written with the same flair common to the author, so still worth reading.
