Loved the story! Romances written during this era are my favorite and to find one that inspires Christian faith is fantastic. I’m going on to read the rest of Haggard’s work. Thank you to those readers before me that gave this book 5 ratings, or I probably never would have found or downloaded it!
Pearl Maiden is an amazing book! I have read it through many times over the past eight years, and still thoroughly enjoy it! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a good story!
AMAZING!!! I love this book so much! it is filled with action, romance, and suspense. Now, i am only 14 years old but this book kept me entertained throughout the time i was reading it. I enjoyed how at one point or another you think that Miriam has no chance. Then you remember, 'Duh! She has GOD on her side.' I highly recommend this book whether you are Christian or not. Honestly, its a good book no matter what your religion is!
Who ever says this book is silly, is badly mistaken. Thia book was amazing! I loved every minute of it. My heart pounded so many times with the mystery of what was going to happen to Miriam.. She has GOD on her side, so she will not loose!!

Having read all of the Alan Quatermain and She books and several other H. Rider Haggard books, I would have to say that I am a big fan of his writing. This book would have probably escaped my notice for some time until I had read more of his other books.

Sarah's condemnation of this book in her review got my curiosity up. I couldn't imagine Haggard writing a bad book. So I read it. This book did not disappoint me at all. As a matter of fact it is a very good book, love story or not. There is lots of action of course and some interesting plot twists. Christians should enjoy this book because it is also a story of early Christianity. If you are looking for an entertaining book, then I highly recommend this one.
DREADFUL!! I suggest that nobody who wants to read a classic novel waste time over this book. I might have liked it when I was ten. The plot was absolutely silly; there was incorrect grammar (i.e. persitent incorrect use of the word "also") which can get very annoying and spoil an entire read. It's about a perfect little girl whom everybody's falling in love with. Hey, we all need something interesting and different, right?
wow!! I loooove this book! I thought it had a very grasping point of view from the christianity side, and I would recommend it for anyone who is at the appropiate age of reading such a romantic and adventurous story.
