This was an uninteresting book, I did not like it at all. Hard to read, very hard. And it wasn't even like it was hard to read because it was an old book. It was hard to read because it was poorly written. The sentences did not flow right and were awkward. It was almost if a translator had done a very poor job or that the author's native language was not English. I was a little disappointed because I usually like what Maddie reviews. Oh ,well. There are far better books to read.

I decided to try this book out pretty much based on the vintage-sounding title. The whole book is a fairly easy read; the characters are charming and the plot line is very much in tune with the title. The descriptions are very vivid and actually interesting to read (I normally hate to read descriptions). You could almost smell the lavender! The only thing I didn't really like was the ending. It was way too sudden and dramatic, especially when compared to the rest of the book. Overall, I liked it and am giving it four stars.

What a sweet sweet book! Only a few sappy lines, which is pretty good for a romance book. The ending is satisfying and happily-ever-after-ish. Only, Isabella got much better than she derserved. I really really liked this book and it deserves the five stars I'm giving it. I'm going to check out other books by the same author.

Nine different people are suspected of the murder and each of them have a good motive for doing so. The book was so cleverly written that I found myself suspecting each character throughout the book. I find it very hard to believe that the other reviewer had it "pinned from the start." The end came as a surprise, yet was not cheesy or corny. I only have two problems with the book. The first is that the title is pretty much unrelated. The Moving Finger is a very random title. The second is that there are a lot of errors in the book, but I can handle that. Overall, a good mystery.

I really like Edgar Wallace's stories. This one was especially good; I had no idea who the criminal was and suspected everyone but him. The characters were believable. The only thing I have a problem with is the title; the key is a very small factor in the story.

The three previous readers pretty much sum it up. I liked this book because of it's unique perspective on crime; that of the defending lawyer. Normally, of course, it's the detective's view, but this perspective was very different and very interesting. 5 stars for this one!!

The most charming collection of whimsical, delighful stories that I have ever read. Each one was different version the same, time-honored story; Cinderella being rescued by the Prince Charming. I strongly recommend these. Please read them, I promise you will love them! 5 stars isn't enough, either!

I read very few sensational adventure books (because they are generally stuffed with exclamation points and false drama), but this was definitely one of the best. The plot was believable, exciting, and satisfying. The only thing I did not like [spoiler!] was the sudden death of the villain. Other than that, if you liked The Scarlet Pimpernel or any other intrigue-themed novel, I would read this one. It deserves five stars.

This was one of those books with an exotic, thrilling title and a disappointing plot. Sappy, cliched characters, a not-very-noteworthy hero, some unsolved mysteries, a larger-than-life villain-ess. One of those cheesy dime novels.

A cliched whodunit murder mystery. There was the suspected (but ultimately proven innocent) girl, her also suspected (and also eventually cleared) lover. A few clues are thrown in that make finding the murderer fairly simple for anyone who has read enough crime/detective literature. I am giving it two stars because of its lack of originality and two-dimensional characters.
